What I did
I served as copy director (and content creator, where noted) on the following internal and public-facing projects.
- GoDaddy Registry Top Level Domains (TLD) rebrands — .TV, .Miami, .club, .Boston, .biz and .US
- Collaborated with registry team (client), Marketing Manager, Creative Ops, Creative Director, Sr. Copywriter, and Visual & Web Designers
- Established an organizational and content strategy, researching and determining the appropriate voice & tone, purpose, messaging, and writing spirit, based on audience and need
- Directed creation of all background narratives, taglines, definitions (including for visual direction), and user testing
- Directed the creation of (or I created) the content for each TLD’s website
- GoDaddy Registry Website Rebrand
- Collaborated with registry team (client), Marketing Manager, Creative Ops, Creative Director, Sr. Copywriter, and Visual & Web Designers
- Established an organizational and content strategy, researching and determining the appropriate voice & tone, purpose, messaging, and writing spirit, based on audience and need

- Collaborated with Brand Chief, Sr. Creative Director, Marketing Manager, and Visual & Web Designers
- Established the appropriate content strategy and voice & tone
- Wrote all site content
- GoDaddy Brand Style Guide — digital, but included a beautiful 165-pg printed version (pictured)
- Collaborated with Brand Chief, Sr. Creative Directors, Principal Copy Director, and Visual & Web Designers
- Helped establish an organizational and content strategy for the guide
- Wrote and/or edited all copy
- GoDaddy Brand Writing Style Guide
- Clocking in at well over 130 pages, this is the overarching style guide for all writing at GoDaddy, detailing voice & tone, personality, writing spirit, high-level facets and guidelines, detailed finer points, directions on maintaining inclusivity in writing, parts of speech, and punctuation
- Collaborated with Brand Chief, Sr. Creative Director, Principal Copy Director, Marketing Manager, Creative Operations, and Visual & Web Designers, plus a 3rd-party design firm
- Established an organizational and content strategy for the guide
- Determined our philosophy on each rule and directive
- Wrote all copy for the entire guide
- Continue to maintain and develop the guide, ensuring all updates are shared out to each writing department/channel
- GoDaddy Brand Strategy Guides — Messaging, Product Naming, Portfolio
- Collaborated with product owners, Marketing Manager, Creative Ops, and Visual & Web Designers
- Helped establish an organizational and content strategy for the guide
- Wrote and/or edited all copy for the guides
- GoDaddy Content Playbooks — Email, Paid Display, Social Media, Workplace Brand, UX
- These playbooks represent specific areas in which certain channels or departments need to diverge (in design or writing) from the overarching Brand Style Guides
- Collaborated with Writing Leads/Writers from channels/departments, Creative Ops, and Visual & Web Designers
- Helped establish an organizational and content strategy for the guide, deciding on when divergence in voice & tone, established rules, or the creation of new guidelines was appropriate
- Directed content and copy direction for all playbook projects
- Commerce Messaging Library
- Collaborated with Product Owners, Product Managers, Principal Copy Director, Marketing Manager, Creative Operations, Creative Director, and Sr. Copywriter
- Worked with Principal Copy Director to establish a content strategy around messaging for GoDaddy’s Payments app, physical sale devices (POS, Smart Terminal, etc.), and an omni-commerce section
- Worked with Principal Copy Director and Sr. CopyWriter to create a large bank of messaging to be used (largely) verbatim by FoS, advertising, email, and social media writers
- Individually expanded the library to include Online Store and Online Accounts sections, directing all messaging direction of taglines written by a copywriter
